Public Image of Personal Injury Solicitors Cheapened By Misleading Advertising

In her online blog, the Chief Executive Officer of the Association for Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL), Deborah Evans, considers the impact of distasteful advertising upon personal injury services.

Ms Evans points out that adverts showing "injured people waving cheques in the air, or dancing down the street" are causing the wider public to become cynical of the personal injury profession as the adverts "cheapen the service we provide" or "make the deserving victim look like a money grabber."

In particular, Ms Evans states that those who have been fortunate enough to never have cause to instruct a personal injury Solicitor are being misled by the public face of the profession whereas those who have had first hand experience of the "commitment, care and expertise" of an APIL accredited Solicitor fortunately tend to have a far more generous view.
