Nationwide Building Society reports a fall in UK house prices during September 2019

The Nationwide house price index recorded a 0.2 percent fall in house prices for September.

Compared with September last year, however, the average UK house price has risen by 0.2 percent to £215,352, though the figures do vary from region-to-region.

Price growth in Wales has slowed to 2.9 percent, compared with 4.2 percent recorded for the previous quarter between April and June.

London and the South East of England remain the worst-performing areas.

Looking ahead, economists predict that the uncertainty of Brexit will continue to shape the UK housing market as will a predicted cut in stamp duty expected in the Government’s next Budget.
