8:30am

I arrive to our St Asaph office, usually with a drive thru coffee, and check my e-mails.  I review my diary and prioritise my tasks for the day.

9:30am

I work on my assigned tasks; today’s task was to prepare a bundle for a Financial Dispute Resolution hearing, this is a second court hearing relating to financial proceedings in a divorce case.

10:30am

I have been asked to draft a witness statement, this is for a clinical negligence claim. I make sure that I review the correspondence, medical records, and evidence to ensure that I understand the issues in this case.

12:30pm

Before I go on my lunchbreak, I check and reply to my emails, and update my to do list.

1:30pm

In the afternoon, I organise a conference between barristers, clients, and medical experts. Meetings like these allow us to discuss the medical evidence and the claim, and we can then advise our clients on what to expect moving forward.

2:00pm

I have been asked to sit in a meeting with my supervisor and a new client. This was a meeting to discuss a personal injury claim. Mackenzie Jones like to have as much client interaction as possible, so I will regularly sit in on meetings with clients.

3:30pm

Whilst it is fresh in my mind, I being drafting an attendance note and a letter to the client explaining the next steps to progress their personal injury claim.

5:00pm

It’s the end of the working day, I made sure any outstanding emails have been dealt with and prepare a list of tasks to do tomorrow.

In the evenings, I like to unwind by walking my border collie Scotty and reading the latest bestselling thriller novel.
