On the 6th April 2009 the Employment Act 2008 will introduce a new regime affecting the vast majority of Employment Tribunal claims.

The Statutory Dismissal, Disciplinary and Grievance Procedures which have been in force since October 2004 will be repealed.  Employers will now be required to comply with a new ACAS Code of Practice on Disciplinary and Grievance Procedures failing which the Tribunal has a discretion to increase awards by up to 25%.

It is imperative that your contractual documentation is updated to reflect the changes.
