What types of personal injury claim do you undertake?

We deal with a wide range of personal injury claims including road traffic accidents, slips and trips, accidents at work, industrial illness and disease, occupiers’ liability and claims to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA).

Is there a time limit?

There is generally a three year time limit from the date of your accident for making a claim. However, time does not start to run until you reach the age of eighteen. A claim under the CICA scheme must be made within two years of the incident. Different rules again may apply to illness and disease cases. Please contact us for further details.

Will you come and see me at home?

Whilst many firms do not offer this service, we appreciate that in certain circumstances you may be unable to travel to our offices. We are happy to see you at home in these circumstances.

Who pays my legal costs?

The vast majority of our cases are undertaken on a “no win no fee” basis. This means that your legal costs will be paid by the other party’s insurers upon the successful conclusion of your claim so that you will receive 100% of any compensation awarded to you.

How long will my claim take?

Typically, we estimate that a personal injury case will take between nine and twelve months, but this is dependant on many factors. No two cases are ever the same.

The insurers have accepted liability for my claim. How much compensation will I receive?

We will obtain medical evidence in respect of your injuries and also evidence as to any ‘out of pocket’ expenses you may have incurred. It is only at this point that we will be in a position to value your claim.

Will I have to go to Court?

The vast majority of claims are settled out of Court.

I have been a victim of violent crime but my attacker has not been traced. Can I still claim?

We regularly submit applications to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority. The CICA hold public money which is available to victims of violent crime and, subject to certain conditions, is payable whether or not your attacker has been traced. Please contact us for more details.

I have already spoken to another firm of Solicitors who have told me that I do not have a case. Will you act for me?

We pride ourselves on succeeding where other firms have failed. We have taken on and been successful in many claims which have been abandoned by other Solicitors. Although we cannot guarantee to take on every case, we will undertake an initial free assessment of your claim.

I am reluctant to pursue a claim against my employers following my accident at work. What should I do?

As your employers will almost certainly be insured, we will generally deal with their insurers and not your employers directly.
